My freehand style of work was borne out of a weekly assignment for a high school art class more than ten years ago. I use this style mostly to capture city skylines, buildings, or street corners. I emphasize contrasting colors and loose perspective through hatching, cross-hatching, and varied line styles. Because I mostly use a particular brand of markers, the color palette for pieces in this portfolio tend to be very consistent. The majority of the scenes are set at night to play off a deep blue and purple sky.

As color schemes and contrast are the most important elements to this style, I allow for a looser approach to capturing structural elements, and often purposely skew perspective to keep the color patterns consistent.
