When relating complex buildings and structures to two-dimensional media, holding symmetry and perspective true can inundate the page with detail. One of the best techniques I have found to capture these elements is by weighting lines that appear equal in real life, differently on paper. This approach, combined with clean-cut lines, alludes to the complexity while giving an almost surreal look to the drawing. I sometimes incorporate basic color schemes to add emphasis to certain elements.
